RE: Boo Biscuit?

For all of you drop away rest guys. Does the additional moving parts not concern you? There are a lot of thins that could go wrong...........
I have broke6 drop aways that I can count off the top of my head.... I still use them.... I however will be using something different for 3D this year. I may also try something else out this fall.

Why do you suppose their are so many drop away rests trying to come up with arrow containment ideas?...........like this one for example.

Containment type dropaways are coming out for the spot and stalker and for people that don't know how to draw a bow without their arrow falling off of a rest. To fill a marketing niche too; it is not a necessary feature though for the stand or blind hunter.

Wow, I just read every post prior to this and let me tell you....you guys scare me. Really. j/k

I will try the WB another time. AKA, give it a second chance.

Do all the moving parts on the drop away scare me? Kind of, but only because I haven't taken one apart yet. When I purchase a piece of equipment, I usually do2 things with it.

1. Give it to my cat to play with for the day. (exception, broadheads) If my cat can drop it off the kitchen counter, submerse it in water and throw it around and the rest is still intact....good.

2. I take the rest apart after that. I mean TAKE IT APART. I want to see every spring, every piece of steal, screw and bolt. Then I put it back together and if it works...good. If not, then it wasn't meant to be.

Why do I do this? I am a tree stand deer hunter who occasionally likes to go on a trip. If my rest fails me, I can do my best to fix it. Otherwise I have my old 2 prong rest in the case. :D

WB's are not for everyone...Drop aways are not for everyone...Atlasman has a short fuse.

Those are the facts!

Since the vast majority of bowhunting is done from a treestand or blind I doubt these are flooding the market trying to reach the spot and stalkers. Since the WB is the most popular hunting rest in the world and finds it's way onto about 1/2 the bows sold for hunting todayand arrow containent is a major benefit of this rest I would say it'sless of a marketing niche and more of a survival thing.

The WB hasmade prong rests all but extinct in the hunting world and drop aways are trying not to suffer thesame fate (or just hoping WB buys them out before they go under, like Trophy Taker).

I am in the mood to try a bunch of new stuff this year as well.......I am gonna grab abunch of stuff and outifit a new bow withthem and mess around all year trying out different gearof all kinds (rests included). Should be fun in the yard and at the 3D course.

My hunting rig will not change as of right now though...........but if anygear knocks my socks off on the otherbow I will switch over.

Sort of like a test kit I guess.

I gotta give some credit to my W.B. ;)It takes a licking in the field (climbing cliffs , mounts.)and has never bein damaged . I use 2 inch blazers , wraps , Platnium glue , and a dot of super glue on each tip . This combo is missle proof:).
Anyways I'm Paka and I approve this message:D

Now come on Atlas, you are usually a man that bases statements on some sort of facts. Escalade Sports owns Bear Archery, Jennings Archery, and Carolina Archery(The maker of Whisker Biscuit). Trophy Taker does not show up on Escalade Sports' website as a product or a company that they now own. Trophy Takers website does not show this either. If Escalade Sports did indeed buy Trophy Taker company,Escalade Sportsbought it and not Carolina Archery. Escalade Sports has been in business for over 70 years and is not successful based on it's one purchase of Carolina Archery.
Now to answer your statement about more WB's then dropaways, that is a simple answer....MONEY and the cost of a dropaway. A WB is a 1/4 of the cost of a quality drop away; some people can't afford a drop away. I also would like to know why fletching contact is an attribute in an arrow rest? BTW, I have had the same original Trophy Taker for 4 years now.I had it on my Hoyt Xtec, took it off and put it on myHoyt Trykon, and now this same Trophy Taker is on my Hoyt Vectrix. This same 4 year old rest has performed flawlesslywithout one problem or failure, so dependability is not an issue. I have set them up once at my proshop on each of these bows and have never had one problem or have they ever had to be readjusted. The Trophy Taker performs flawlessly and the fletches do no touch the bow rest when leaving my bow. I do not have to make sure I use a specific vane, nor do I have to worry about cock feather placement.

Wrong, still owned by Dan Evans. I called Trophy Taker not two minutes ago.
