why speed

am i missing something? a few guys said speed=accuracy...i dont see it. the only POSSIBLE way that could be true is the arrow is under your power for less time...but were talking fractions of fractions of a second. i dont buy it. is there something im not thinking about? how does speed=accuracy? if anything i might think a slower bow would be more accurate. possibly getting better stability out of the arrow.
im not a speed freak at all. i call myself a KE freak. buttttt to maximize KE you gotta maximize KE. i bet next year im around 220-240fps...but my KE will be pretty high..which when it comes to hunting i think thats more important than speed. the diffrence in TIME the arrow gets to hunting distances between a 260fps bow and 300fps arrow is fractions of a second diffrence..its minimal. and the trajectory isnt much diffrent..it is..but within 20yds at 260fps im still using my top pin. the only thing i see speed useful for is gaining more KE. sure that arrow gets there quicker and flatter etc..but thats all pretty dang minimal at hunting distances..
still curious about that accuracy thing..not tryin to nit pick i just dont know the answer...thats a new one on me..

Because it gives me more KE and more momentum. I like speed but don't know that I could be classified as a speed freak as I shoot a heavy arrow. Why not try to gain every advantage that I can. You hit a deer with a #20 draw weight bow in the right spot you are going to kill it, why isn't that legal?
The new technology in bows today give you speed in an accurate package. Years past that wasn't the case but if you think that the speed bows of today are not very accurate in an average archers hands you haven't shot them. IMO the faster the better if it isn't coming at the expense of accuracy. I don't think it is in today's bows. The speed bows of today are as accurate, if not more than the slow bows of yesteryear.
I see it as gaining an advantage, shooting better equipment, and putting more odds in my favor. Hormones don't really factor in.

Sometimes, moreoften than not,the way bow manufactures get speed in a bow reduces its accuracy, i.e. shorter brace height. More manufacturers are finding ways around this though.

archer58, my Old Glory is set at 29" draw length, only an extra inch over you which means about a 10-12 f.p.s. gain. I use a tied in peep and I have no silencers on the string. My arrows are fairly light, 377 grains.

You would have the ability to vary your set up (heavier arrow or lighter draw) and still get very good speed. This is important to us as a group and the bow companies know that. We're all different in our preferences.
that's what a fast bow gives us , the ability to use lighter/heavier arrows and heavy/lighter draw weight.
