Flatter trajectory. You can be off on your yardage by a yard here or there without it mattering much.

Speed thrills.

Speed is also a necessary variable in the kinetic energy equation. But there are a few other things as well, that really aren't related to the speed at all. GENERALLY speaking, if a bow has fast IBO ratings, the overall quality of the bow is better than is one w/ slow IBO ratings......again, GENERALLY speaking.

Speed Kills...besides that I'm a short 28" draw.As a result , I need a fast bow to make up for the loss of speed due to draw.

Speed is over rated. But it gives a lot of guys something to talk about and try to out do one another on.

I wouldn't back that even in a general sense. Speed is MUCHmore about bow design than quality.

Amen to that, the slowest bow that I have owned (Hoyt MT Sport) was a awsome bow and it was shooting at a whopping 244 f.p.s. with my set-up, nowhere near the 295-296 f.p.s. that my Old Glory is getting but it was still a good quality bow and it was a pleasure to shoot.

Why do guys go for speed? Because thats what the bow manufacturers are pushing out. Alot of guys upgrade their bows every year, speed isn't in the equation, they simply have to have the newest bow. The manufacturers are making the bows faster so the guy that upgrades every year simply gets the benefit of extra speed simply because that is what the manufacturer chose to do to upgrade the bow.

and its pretty cool to brag mine shoots 300fps (mine doesnt), besides what are you going to say.....MY BOW SHOOTS 200FPS!!!!!. lol

It honestly doesnt matter, It would be awesome to get a bow that could fling a heavy alum arrow 260fps. I would take that setup all day long imagine the KE

With the new technology I would say that accuracy is why people want speed. Remember that the rated speed and actual speed are not always the same...
