This year I'm thinking about getting a new rest for my bow. I was thinking about getting the Ripcord rest. I was interested if anyone has one and what kind of experience you had with it. Also would you recommend it to someone or not. Just looking for info from people that have used it. Thanks in advance Huntndad.

Sorry to say this but this post is about a Muzzy rest. I'm sure there a very good rest, I knew before hand that they were but I'm also interested in the ripcord restand just wanted some input from people that may have one currently or had one and replaced it with another type . You see I like to try to be an "informed shopper" so when I do purchace something I feel that I bought the best there is for the money I paid. Thanks for the help maybe someone else can let me know what kind of luck they had with there ripcord rest.

I think he was telling you to get a muzzy zero effect. I don't know a thing about drop away's as I have only ever used a whisker biscuit...

indiana yes I get what he was saying but that is not what the question I had in my original post was. If you reread it you will; notice I would lik information from people that have or used the ripcord rest so that I could determan if I would want to buy one or someother rest from a different manufacture. Hdad, i just got one and its a great rest besides the noise it makes when it hits the shelf. Im trying to figure out how to fix this problem any suggestions would be great..

I used one last year and love it, the best of both worlds. Raise it to the up position and your arrow is locked in. You can turn your bow upside down and the arrow cannot fall off. And when you shoot, no clearance problems.

Try using some moleskin. I have also tried this thin foam material they sell at gander. I put it my shelf and it completly silenced my bow.It is about $2.00 for two strips of it. It also makes a good grip aswell.

A big THANK YOU for the informaion so far. I'm concerned about this rest hitting the shelf though. Can it be adjusted away from the riser alittle so it doesn't hit. My bow does have fleece lining the shelf that I put on awhile back. Still if it hits the shelf I now wander if it's dropping all the way down out of the way.May have to take a trip to Dundee and check one out. My wife will just love that.
