Maggy - Ted killed a coyote. A varmit. A varmit who's populations have SOARED since ARA's slammed the fur industry a decade back and fur farms brought the prices down. Coyotes that kill chickens, ducks, cats, dogs, little bitty bunny rabbits .......... they're varmits, killing is what they do !

Did it matter he shot one at that range ? NO dead is dead.

Like I said before, when I'm in the woods I'm a killer - I hunt for the hunt, but when it comes down to the shooting, I want to kill my target. I'll take the best shot I can take, when I think I can take it and make it. Sure, I don't want to miss, I dont want a wounded deer, but I'm not going to over-analyze my shots for the sake of a weak, yellow bellied, take your hunting rights awayARA Liberal who aint got a clue what nature is all about, and doesn't understand God put animals here for us to kill and eat.

Disrespecting the animal is when you have doubts and still shoot.
Exactly. If you are confident and know you can make the shot than take it. Now I am not saying a 100 yard shot is ethical (bowhunting), but ranges of people will deffer with their confidence in their equipment and themselves. There is really no right and wrong.

How many yards do you consider YOUR range when shooting at an animal vs what would you consider out of range and disrespect for the animals, no matter what they are?
If it's anything you're not gonna eat, there isNO respectful range.

Refer to signature.

as a traditional bowhunter who uses no sights, no pins, no sighting method ......... I simply look where I want the arrow to go, and I shoot.

you don't place yards and things like that on instinctive hunting

does a baseball player calculate how many yards vs how fast a runner is etc on throwing out a guy stealing second ? no - he thinks he can make the throw, and he either tries or he doesn't

bowhunters either think they can make the shot, or they don't. I've yet to hear one person say " I knew I was going to miss, shot anyway " - because a $7 carbon and a $12 broadhead is worth something too you know

Know how to read your animal, know your effective range, know the distance and make a honest judgement on the animal. That is how far you should shoot. It has nothing to do distance. There is no magic number for everyone.
