We don't personally have a problem with him shooting a lamb. That is not the point that some of us are trying to make. Because we live in a Democracy our fates are not completely our own. Their are millions of other Americans that also have a say in the new laws that get passed and those are the ones we have to worry about turning off of hunting. Ted's actions are just making hunters as a whole look more and more fanatical. Was he trying to show a point... yes could he of done it a lot better... definitely! One trip with those girls to a slaughter house would of been much better than shooting a lamb on camera. In today's world there are the Hunter's and gun/bow lovers, there are the leftist's that want to make a mockery of our rights and there is the majority of people that fall in the middle. We cannot afford to alienate the middle ground or all is lost! It is that simple I am sure PETA secretly smiled when they saw Ted shooting a lamb because they knew that they just gained a little more of the middle ground!

I'm in complete and total agreement here. There is no difference between that and a slaughter house. That's life. We kill animals. We eat animals. As hunterswe choose to kill our animals outside of fences (most of us anyways.) What he did is nothing different than a slaughter house. I think people are ignorant of that sometimes. IMO he did nothing wrong.

And at the same time you're saying we're wusses, some of you were the ones responsible for me having to take my original signature picture off this site because they found it offensive and grosse. I was asked to remove it or have it removed for me. Some of the same people saying Yeah for Ted are also the same ones that get all hyper because someone post a picture of a deer in a truck or a deer with his tongue hanging out. They say it doesn't honor the animal. Which is it folks?

Let me ask you guys something.......and I'm gonna come clean on something I've never said to anyone.....

Let me ask you.....have you ever been to a "slaughterhouse"?

My grandfather ran the stock yard and abattoir where I grew up....in additon to being a cattle and tobacco farmer. I can remember MANY times as a young kid going in there looking for him when I was going to work with grandpa. here's the scenario....

Cattle are herded into a covered shed and led down a slanted chute.They're constantly deficating and urinating.....so the chute gets slippery. If they make it down without falling and being constantly stepped on and tangled/mangled......they're led to a block that locks their head in place. If they fall they're prodded, electrically until they get there. The instrument used to "kill" them is ill-equipped for the job. It's an octagon-shaped "projectile" the looks like a large pistol. After being loaded.....it pistons the projectile into their brains.....knocking them to the ground, instantly.....where they writhe in pain. A chain is hoisted around their rear hooves and they're hoisted into the air. Usually there's 3-5 hanging and waiting for the next step. Usually....they're all alive. The next step is the slitting of their throats. They're usually good and alive for this.....and they continue to writhe while this happens. Sometime during the process of beginning to cape them.....they die.

I'm a 42 yr old man.....and these images sometimes still haunt me. I've never been more serious.

I'd keep ANYONE I cared about from witnessing these things, unneccessarily. I don't see the point.

So he can do whatever he likes and act however he wantsas long as he quits bowhunting and dis-associates himself from the sport? Whenin the public eye he should not claim to be a bowhunter because you don't approve of his killing of a lamb or his behavior? Give me a break. You are once again telling someone how to behave according to what you think is right. The voting members of the NRA voted to have Ted as a board member. This is quite a post to hold and he has done it for several years now and has a lot of respect amongst his piers. This is quite an important position to holdIMO.Not to mention the page long post that buckeyehunter posted with all of Ted's credentials on the Ted thread. Instead of slamming a fellow bowhunter,whom does a lot of good for our sport and hunter's rights, you should embrace what he does and be thankful. What are you doing to make our right to bowhunt poitive in the non-hunters' eyes? All of you namesayers should all keep your noses clean. Please don't get any speeding tickets, DUI's, parking tickets, or use foul language in public. This could tarnish what people think of a bowhunter and that is not good for the sport.

If more people saw the truth they would relize that it is more human to do it yourself.
I don't know if daves comments are pointed at me but those pics don't bother me at all. It was not me that has ever said anything about disrespect for a animal because of a pic.
Sheltering people does not help. We are soft and that is the way it is. If no one ever tries to change this it will only get worse.

Don.....All I think he's trying to say.....(and I don't think he's telling Ted what to do)....is what a lot of us think.

You attract more bees with honey than you do with vinegar.

My wife loves steak....but I don't have to read what I wrote above to her every time she wants one.....nor do I have to kill the steer in front of her.

Ted's just a little extreme......and he knows that sells. He has an audience....that I include myself in. I like him. I watched his show, last night. I enjoy him.

Do I want him speaking for me as a bowhunter??? NO MORE than the MLB player's association wants Pete Rose speaking for them.

By the way dave. Thanks for serving our country! I respect that and always will. It does not changethe way I feel about this subject. Why would you want to be persuaded buy people that want to take away our rights. You are being swayed because it isdeemed politicaly incorrect. I don't like the fact that we are kept from the truth of ourcurrent war either. People need to see the truth and this world would be way better off in the long run.
