Tell you what next time we have an issue about urban hunting;I will bring a nice fat doe to a meeting, I will shoot her in front of the crowd, let her flop around and die. So the folks that vote can get a taste of reality. What do you thing?

LOl, I'm sure everyone in your area would know your name and it would really help you in what you do in the community.;)
I am just glad Ted moved to Texas, you can have him,LOL

Ted asks if they would like some lamb and they all said yes he replied then ill go get us some
Why do you think Ted made the choice to offer lamb?

if you watch Ted's shows you know that he is trying to show the people on it the reality of life and how things are.
That's honestly one of the funniest things I've read in awhile.

Think of it this way... how many fanatic people have been able to do anything within our government? How many right or left wing presidents have we had. (Don't say G.W.B because he isn't and he got in with name rec.) To get anything done in this country you must not take things to the extreme. I'm only 23 and I would like the freedom to hunt for the rest of my life but I can see a day where people get tired of Ted's antics and we lose the sport/lifestyle that we love.

Is Ted extreme? Sure he is. He admitts he is and that's his style. You don't have towatch this stuff if it offends you. You don't take your kids or family to the slaughter house or chicken plant or any other place where animals are processed forfood. I can remember when I was a child and my grandfather owned cattle. I would go out and help him feed and tend to the cattle. I regularly went with him to the sale barn to buy or sell the cattle. I also went with him to the slaughter house when he would deliver one for processing to provide several months offood for our family. It wasn't a pleasent site to behold, but necessary nevertheless. So I knew at a young age what went on there and why it had to happen. It's a fact of life, and sheltering people from it doesn't change that.Ted shooting the lambon his show doesn't offend me.We all know that in his shows, he tries to have people who are opposed to anything that he believes in such as hunting, fishing, trapping, consumption of meat, carrying firearms, etc...... then he tries to persuade or at least show them howor why those ofus who do those things, do them. Yes,alot of it is geared towardsentertainmentfor the audience, but the actuall reality of it is that he's still promoting the things that we as hunters believe in. Would it have been any different if he'd went to his freezer and just pulled out some frozen lamb chops and served them? That meat was still taken from a live animal that was killed for it's meat. I'm just so sick of all the PC stuff all the time because we're afraid of offending someone who may not agree with us (hunters, conservationists, meateaters, fishermen), when they couldn't care less about us or our opinions. JMO
I agree.

Then ride around town with your deer on the hood of your truck next time you kill one and paint "GOTCHA" in Blood on the doors.

Be PROUD!!!

HCH what it comes down to is this IMO, I can sum it up like this, and then I am done

We are not going to win public support by being more fanatical then ARA's.

Listen to my favorite Ted Song

"I got you in a Strangle hold baby, and then I crushed your face"

Poetry, LOL

Ted shot a lamb on his hunting show for shock value and to drive home the point of where meat comes from.........dead animals.

Was it over the top.....yes IMO simply because it is a "hunting show" and the message could get mixed up by some folks.

Was it Wrong......no. IMO.

I also think that people in general have a hard time watching an animal die even though they know it results in food for them. I think the reason people are against hunting is because they refuse to watch of see how an animal dies in a slaughter house as described by GMMAT. Do most of these people still eat meat..........yes. Out of sight out of mind.

IMO the failure to watch how a cow or pig dies in order to make that hamburger or Christmas ham has sheltered a lot of people. If raised in an urban invironment they will probably never see this type of thing. Let's face it there are not a lot of "slaughter shows" out there on the Outdoor channel for people to tune into for "reality purposes". It's almost a totally forgotten process by most people. They would just assoonforget about that part of the process.
The only fight left for them is us the hunter and we are a big target for them. We are on TV all of the time. Ted....a hunter.......kills anything and everything he can and celebrates it. I get it.......you get it.........most othersdon't get it!

Are we as a country soft? Compared to 30-50 years ago.... I think so. A lot was different then. Things that are taboo now were everyday practices then and they were not easy practices. Killing a pig for the winter was common. People did not just go and buy pork chops like we do now.

Whichway do you think is a harderway of life?

And make sure you don't freak out when some one say'skill and not harvest. Or doesn't clean up the deer after killing it and taking a picture.

etc.etc.

I was joking a few posts back.....but I'll now pose the question....

When you kill a deer.....why don't you lasso it to the hood of your vehicle and ride home, that way?

OK..if it weren't against the law.......

Although I am only 29 and wasn't around 40-50 years ago, my grandparents and my dad were. I regularly sit and visit with them about how things were when they were young. Things were much more difficult back then, but they didn't see it that way.It was just life and you did what you had to do.They weren't used to the everyday luxuries that we all enjoy today. Life wasn't so PC and no one was sheltered from therealities of lifeback then (at least the kind of stuff we're talking about here). It was do, or do without. I agree that our society has softened and is continuing to do so. The act of walking out and shooting one of the farm animals for food is still practiced in many places in this country and all over the world. Are we too good or too progressed to just realize it and if so, why? Maybethiswas thepoint Tedwas trying to make.
