Default what's eating it?

Something is chewing on my brother's rack. There's little chew marks around the base and a small tunnel going inside the rack. What can we do to stop whatever it is?

Possibly a mouse. How big is the tunnel?

sprinkle a little bit of sulfur around the base or... hang it from the ceiling. That should take care of it.

Actually it's a shoulder mount. and the tunnel's really small, you can barely see it.

It is probably a moth larva that eat the roots of hair on mounted animals. Is there hair falling out in the ears? You can spray it lightly with a bug killer, just don't get it too wet. Or put in a plastic bag and fumigate it.

If this doesn't sound like your problem, post your question in the taxidermy forum. They can definately help you out.

not sure, try a little bit of camp dry on a rag, and rub it on the base of the horns. Be careful not to get it on the hide, it may discolor or even eat the hide. That should take care of what ever is eating the horns. If you find out what it is, let us know
