I'll be the second to commend you for posting the footage, too. That takes balls.

I'm sick of hunting shows NOT showing us ALL their shots. You can teach an audience a VALUABLE lesson by showing and then ADMITTING to your mistakes/errors.....or just showing your bad shots, along with the good.

Teejay.....woud you guys edit this stuff out of your hardcore hunting adventures footage? I'm just asking.

And.....if you've took a shot at a deer and missed....you're human. Heck.....the author's shot was bad, yeah....but it he hit the deer (flesh wound, thank God). Hell...it would have been an even WORSE shot to COMPLETELY miss (figuratively).

Jury's still out on the shot angle. I might jump ship if I see where the shooter is in relation to the cameraman.

I do believe it to be a flesh wound, that buck will see another day. But kudos to you for making an attempt to find him, nice video by the way that was a nice buck thanks for sharing.

I do NOT understand the idiot responses I've read here !

That wasreally good shot, and angle, and the deer hardly flinched before the arrow got there. You took a GOOD shot, made a bad hit, but the deer lives no problem.

Anyone who thinks this is a BAD shot hasn't been hunting very long, I'm sorry, with a compound thats a dang good shot

I didn't read all the replies but it's obviously just a dang grazing wound. This arrow hardly scarred the backstrap. It's well above the spine and everything. No NO mans land and all that crap. It would stop bleeding in about 2 minutes if it bled much at all. The deer healed over within a day or two and is probably charging hard if someone didn't get him later. This deer has had worse wounds from another deer more than likely. You got some tallow, some hide and maybe knicked the backstrap on the off side. People that think he hit the mythical "NO MANS LAND" need to take a course in deer anatomy.

Well i went out today and looked for him pretty hard. No sign of anything, no blood...nothing. Im sure he is fine. It turns out that this is a deer that i have been watching for a while and he is a young deer (2 1/2 - 3 1/2). I didnt know it at the time so im kind of glad he is going to get the chance to grow some more. Im going to put out a trail camera sometime soon and try and get some pictures of him hopefully.
