Turkeys in the woods!

So I was on an afternoon/ evening post the other night and as I was walking to my stand I heard some major rustling close by. Well i precedid to take my time in hopes that it was some deer. Well it turns out it was a ton of turkeys! my question to everyone is do the turkeys ruin my hunt, because they sure do make an awful lot of noise and make it hard to hear anything!

I've got the same problem. The nice thing about turkeys is they don't tend to stick around very long. They just pass through. I don't think they bother the deer too much. I've seen turkeys and deer together in our food plot. Just don't spook the turkeys - let them pass unalarmed.

The only way turkeys are going to hurt your hunting, is if they spot you. The deer will be comfortable with them nearby, they see and hear turkeys all the time, but when the turkeys spook, the deer will too, they know if theres something for the turkeys to be afraid of, they should be too.

i actually think deer hang out with turkeys alot. around here atleast. one mature buck we been seeing this year has ALWAYS been with a flock of turkeys when spotted in the daylight. kinda makes sense..with all them eyes of a flock of turkeys and the bucks nose hes pretty danged safe!
but as said...only way they are going to mess things up for you is when you get picked off and they start alarm putting. squirrels will do the same for ya. i was watching 2 young bucks in an orchard..not legal to shoot but i was glassing them enjoying the morning. fogged the binocs, the bucks were behind trees so i went to whipe the lenses..a squirrel spotted me and started barking..bucks tails went up and they slipped back into a thicket! the bucks never seen me but the squirrel bark alerted them of the danger...

There're lots of turkeys where I hunt, and I've seen them feeding with deer alot. I agree that if you spook them, the deer will spook too, or avoid the area turkeys were spooked from. I always think it's a treat to see them. I'm hunting a new area of a state park that I've hunted for years, and I've seen turkeys there as much as deer so far. And they make a ton of noise! It's almost like they drag their feet when they walk.
Are wild turkeys as good to eat as domestic turkeys?

One of the funniest days I had on stand was with a flock of turkey and two button bucks. The turkeys came in first and I just missed a large hen. The turkeys feed off out of range at like 60 yards or so. I then had two buttons come in and decide they wanted all the acorns for themselves. They would choose one turkey and start chasing it all around. They would come back and eat for a few minutes and then do it again.....it was hiliarious!

I agree with everyone that replyed so far , turkeys and deer co - exsit together so it's only natural for them to be around .
I think the deer use turkeys as a eary warning system , if they see that the turkeys are feeding and are not alarmed then they will be more relaxed to come in and feed or browse as well.
