Heck, we can't even have words on our blaze! It has to be completely SOLID to be legal! That being said, I will wear a solid hat and a break up patterned coverall (orange), and I have had success during gun season as well. I shot my 7pt. at about 30 yards, and he was headed straight for me.
I don't know what they can and can't see, NO ONE may *really* know, but I think the biggest thing to remember is to stay still, they can very easily pick off a movement they don't recognize as "natural".

deer cannot see orange and as stated it does appear just as a gray to them. they may see the uv brightners from your clothes if you wash in normal detergant though which is why you should use some type of scent away laundry detergant because they contain no uv brightners
