Dude , did you have a woman leave you for a guy that shoots a dropaway rest and processes his deer in the woods? I thought so.

Women don't leave men who take longer then 20 minutes

I have seen the deer you shot in the past and they all looked very capable of being dragged............I doubt 215lbs is an average weight for the deer you shoot.
I have dragged plenty of little ones out for my Grampa, no problem.
Heaviest deer was 247 lbs dressed, that was tough drag. 500 yds through the corn field.

I can't believe thisdiscussion is still going on. Anyway, I drag mine out but that does sound like a good diea HCH if you have enough time to do it out there. I always thought it was better to have the meat age...provided its cold enough.

Sounds like a good deal.
This is what I meant by some people having different opinions of what wasting meat means. Now if you had said you could do a deer in 20 minutes I would have tended to agree because I know you leave plenty behind.

Yes I did say the front legs aren't worth the time. I still believe that on the little ones. However I found a better way to do it all faster. I have a place I can donate the whole animal, guts and all, and still get my tax deduction.[8D] Guess what, nothing goes to waste at that place. It all becomes cat food.

Your math is WAY off.
First of all he charges $75 for a straight cut..........more for anything out of the norm of steaks, chops and grind. At 40 minutes/deer that is 3 deer every 2 hours for a total of $112.5 an hour divided 4 ways is just over $28/hr. He does not divide it equally either since the equipment is all his.

perhaps, your friend should find another way to make a living. $40/deer/4 guys * .66 hour = $6.60/hour. I think he's loosing money.

I've done enough deer.........and seen other people do plenty more to know better. A good friend of mine has been a professional meat cutter for over 20 years and butchers deer for extra money during the season. He is happy if his crew does a deer in 30-40 minutes........and they have 3-4 guys going at once.

The secret to having big deer is having access to river bottoms. I know you can figure it out from here

By the way, I can skin and bone and deer out in 20-30 minutes. You non-believers wouldn't know because they are hard to do when they sit for a long time. When they are warm they go quickly. I have done them cold and stiff like you like to do it and I have done them warm. You arguers have never done them warm; till you process one in the woods like I do you'll never know.
