I have been deployed to over seas for the last couple months. Soon I will get to take some R&R back in the states and I plan tospend plenty of time in the stand! I have my bow in its case, it was ready to go when I left it have to check that when I get home. I gota brand new ladder stand still sitting in the box at my parents house, they nice enough to hold on to my stuff while I am gone. what other things should I try to pick up for deer hunting with the bow? I really dont know any thing about the calls and scents haveing never used them dureing gun season. Do the rattle bagswith the sticks in them work just as well as banging apair of antlers together? thereseem tobe so many kinds of deer calls, I only want1 or 2. which ones would be a goodcombo?
thanks guys, I plan on going to a bass pro before heading to the house to start hunting. I really like this website. I check in just about every other day just to see whats up. this is such a great place to just hang out and learn stuff about bows and bow hunting.

switchback,
There is so many options in terms of calls and scents out there. I, like flyinfeathers, am another one for the truetalker, you can get it at Bass Pro for $12.99. If you do some searches through the gear forum there will be plenty of posts for any scents, calls, and anything else you are looking for. Thanks for your service!

one other thing. I have a cobra sight on the bow right now. its made of think metal and has stood up well on a target range. I really like the new inline pin sights and a glow ring to line up my peep with, would trophy ridge matrix be a good sight or are there others that do the same thing but cost less? thinking of replaceing the wisker buscut with the TR DZ rest also, is it quiet? or loud when shot??

Well as far as the trophy ridge goes, my opinion only - there are others that cost less and are as good or better. My bow is wearing a cobra rest, and has for the last 4 years.
The whisker biscuit - I love mine, and don't want to change, but if you want to that is your choice. But I would ask why? Is there something about the biscuit you don't care for? The trophy ridge drop zone is a good rest, but the Muzzy zero effect is very well liked by many people on the forum also. I personally have no knowledge of either as I use the Biscuit.
Hope this helps you some.
Thank you for your service to our country.
God Bless

I fall into a different category of hunters that RARELY use calls and scents. With our buck/doe ratio the way it is.....the bucks here don't really have to compete for does. Hence my approach.
I want to personally thank you for your service. I CONSTANTLY find myself humbled by thesacrifices you guys (and ladies) make for US. Your post doesn't say where you're from.....but if you're anywhere near NC......look me up when you come back. I'll put you on a deer.
God Bless.
