APA bows - Are they really that fast?
I have been considering what many people on here say about having a back up bow. Started looking around to see what is out there on the market. Saw ads for APA Archery bows, like the Black Mamba Extreme, IBO 345 fps, or the APA Taipan IBO 351 fps. Is this for real, and what kind of Quality bows are these. Anyone out there shoot them?
Naturally if I buy a bow better than the bow I am currently using, It would become my primary, and the PSE would be the backup. But the way my PSE shoots, I see no reason to even look at bows that have the same basic specs as the PSE. If I am going to buy a new bow, I want something better, faster, but just as reliable.
And yes qzq38b, You got me on that one..LOL That would be a heck of a backup... I sit corrected.LOL

That would be a helluva backup bow!
The APA Black Mamba Extreme is a two cam bow that is supposed to be the fastest bow in the world. I have not shot one but I'd like to. Being a two cam bow at that speed with that brace height means it's going to be a pain to keep in tune.
If you really want a good fast hunting bow check out the bowtech allegiance. They put out over 330 fps IBO with the speed mods and you can still shoot it comfortably and accurately. Plus the binary cam system has the two cams slaved together so timing isn't going to be an issue. Alot of guys on this forum love their Allegiance. When I retire my Hoyt I'm thinking about one myself.

The specs on the Taipan posted above are wrong. It is quick but not that quick. APAJaws used to be on their staff and I shot his Taipan. Great bow, pretty quick, no handshock, etc. If you like one and have a good dealer near you that carries them I wouldn't hesitate.
