Default OK PA guys another question

Due to our screwy fiscal year, I have to take my remaining 6 days of vacation in October. I'm going to use 4 days to hunt in Ohio (my Home State) but as some of you know I also have a camp in Clarion Pa.

So when would you use these2 days + of course the Saturday for a 3 day get-a-way. I have 2 trains of thought.

a) go the Thurs - Sat as late a possible which would be closer but not yet into the rut So the dates would be the 26th-28th

or

b) go prior to the early Muzzle-loader season so deer have not been pursued by the masses these dates are 12th-14th. I believe the 19-21 would include the muzzle loader season.

Thoughts???

I would definitely go the last week of October. At least then you might be able to catch the beginning of pre rut if you're lucky

For the past three bow seasons the rut has hit peak right around the last week of the first archery season here in areas 2A an 2C. (greene, fayette counties mostly). if i had only 3 days to hunt all year they would all be somtime that week. Just riding around in the truck between hunts I see more deer that week than I see in all bow and rifle seasons combined.

I agree with option A, the end of Oct around Halloween is a good time to be in the woods.

GR8, it's gotta be plan A, but is there a such thing as a couple of un-paid days off where you work?

The full moon is on the 5th of November this year.

The week before should be super active for bucks.

I also vote for the last few days of October.
