Default Question for the PA guys?

Who is gonna try to fill a doe tag first?
I have every intention of shooting a doe first this year. About time I did my part on the doe harvest.
But, if a BIG buck would stroll by first?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

So, whats everyones gameplan?

I won't shoot a doe opening morning. Morning are always my buck time...Many times we save our doe tags for second season which adds another challenge to the hunt however I'm not doing my part for deer management, so, opening evening I may or may not fill the tag depending on how the camera work goes. My hunting partner and I hunt together and film each others hunts, so If I'm in front, I'll hopefully fill my tag opening evening, if not, perhaps he will..

TO date, along with friends, clients we film for we have about 12 whitetail bow kills on tape, several muzzleloader takes and about 10 Spring gobblers taken on film....of course we have a few bloopers too. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Rob, sometimes the bloopers are as good as the other!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
When are ya gonna put a video together? All of my footage is pretty boring, its tough to film your own kills, it sure adds some more pressure.

We are working at putting together the video. I have done some very amateur editing but the end product was nice. It's no Realtree Monster buck video but is wild, fair chase real life PA hunting...one of the best scenes is where I have my wife on film missing a buck.....4 times....that's right, I was able to hold and call back in a nice little buck with a grunt call and she unloader her quiver. After the 4th shot, (4 arrow quiver), the buck actually walked towards her, I was laughing so hard I was shacking the camera, that and nerves, it would have been her first deer with a bow. She's a good shot, I made sure of that but we all remember that first animal and nerves....

We play our deer hunting video at our Outfitters booth and our turkey video at our game call booth.

I can't say that I'll try to fill the doe tag first, but will say that since I hunt deer on public lands, I'll take the first legal decent sized, buck or doe that presents itself.

It's a deer pole, not a buck pole, and if we want to hang bucks on it, then we also need to hang does on it.

plan on filling one tag on the first mature doe that presents herself. we have way too many does on our property. the landowner next to us doesn't beleive in killing does, so they are running all over the place. i try and educate him, but he's stuck in his ways. that doesn't mean i'm gonna stop trying though. good luck to all this season. <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have always tried shooting a doe ASAP, and for the most part I've been fortunate to do so opening day. Even before the PGC started preaching about it I was trying to pop a doe. I am always out of meat by the opening of the season and no sense in waiting. Last year I had 2 bucks walk by me after having shot my doe. No big deal, cause they didn't meet my personal size limit.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not.

I plan on taking full advantege of my jr. license and doe permit and shooting the first thing that walks by.

Save the sport. Take a kid hunting twice and hook them for life!!!
