I paid $250 for mine and am satisfied with my purchase. For the price, I don't think I could have gotten a better bow. Yeah Igot it at Walmart, but it fits me well and shoot great. Yep, there's some hand shock, but it's rather quiet. I'd give my left testicle for a Bowtech Alliegance, but the dude at the Archery Shop told me U.S. Dollars only lol. Something that has me spooked lately is all the horror stories I'm hearing about the high-end bows breaking. Seems like Cams and Limbs are the biggest problem. Manufacturers are forced to create bows that launch arrows faster and faster, but I think technology is not keeping up with the demand for speed. My $250 Walmart bow(See Signature) launches my Terminator Hunters at 245fps. That's plenty for right now since I'm shooting no further than 30 yards. The next bow I buy will be one of the big three, probably. But I'm not sure how long it will take me to save up $1000.

I shoot a Martin Tracer. It is a nice bow for not a lot of money. I paid $400 for the bow and all the accessories. It is very light and it has a speed of 298 fps. It shoots really good. I have killed many deer with it and it has never let me down.

Also, be VERy wary of making equipment changes close to the season.
Take it from me, it can take MONTHS to get a bow properly tuned.
Maybe wait till after the season when people are off loading their bows and score one then?
Your kidding right ? The last4 bows that were purchased by me and my friends were set up at the archery shop and all we did was sight them in, maybe a little adjustment, took a couple of hours not months.

my last bow was 200$ pse nova one cam. some hand shock and the back wall was a little squishy but shooting 30in arrows at 275fps for $200 (for a whole kit) cant beat it and i actually won a comp with it. shot very accurate it really comes down to the archer. look at that guy who can hit an asprin with a long bow do you think he needs to upgrade every year. just practice alot with something you like the feel of.
