Martin Begal (1995 circa)
39" ATA
Dual "Ultra Sonic" cams (soft cam)
Set at 65# draw weight
31-5/8" Easton 2315 aluminum
125 grn Cabela 3/blade Laser Pro, fixed blade
24 yard, quartering to, ground shot.
Disassembled shoulder ligaments and tendons, tore through two ribs of right side, took out major right lung, punched through left rib cage, bh just beneath hide.
Buck took off but fell when leg collapsed while he was running at full blower. He fell so hard on his face,he broke his lower jaw loose. Got up, ran across the road and piled up, never to go again.
Distance: 300 yards in flat (harvested) bean field.
Five minutes later, nephew using;
Martin Cougar Speed Flite (1995 circa)
39" ATA
Dual "Z" cams
Set at 65# draw weight
31-1/2" Easton 2315 aluminum
125 grn Cabela 3/blade Laser Pro, fixed blade
made a 30-yard shot, quartering away, down angle, shot from ground blind. Doe timely, but slightly, turned to right when he shot. Shaft went through outside muscle of right-rear thigh, slammed through the rear of left rib cage, took out liver, lung, heart, and partially exited her right side.
Shot was so devasting, the shaft opened her up and she partially dumped her entrails.
This is the head removed from the buck. I do "Loc-Tite" the blades.

Congrats c9! I shoot the same variety in the 100 grain version. I took 2 last year with the 125's but switched when I got a new bow. I passed through on both, 1 at 7yards and the other at 32 yards. neither went more than 50 yards before they went down. I was using a Martin Cheetah @ 57lbs and carbon stalker shafts from Cabela's as well. Are we related???LOL. What do you mean about the "loc-tite"? You glue them into the ferrulles??

Yes. I use No. 242 "Loc-Tite" in the ferrules and in the insert.
Being it all comes down to the broadhead, I want it solid and I want to reduce possibility of blade(s) being knocked from its groove. A broken blade can still do some cutting.
As you can see in the pic, bone and tendons played havoc with one blade edge, but the blade stayed in the ferrule.
