Default Back tension-Core archery

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that I bought Larry Wise's book Core archery. I am almost done reading it and all I can say is Wow. After talking with my coach I am going to be switching to back tension shooting. I would have done it in the future but we figured it would be better to start now. I am going to be shooting some tournaments this fall and then the state shoot in Feb. So I will hopefully be fully adjusted by then. I will be ordering my BTR soon and will probably be getting a Stan. My coach and I will be choosing one that works best for me but I just wanted some opinions on them. Which have you had experience with and how do they work? Have any of you used the Stan micro lll ? And if so how was that. Thanks alot. P.S. This book is awsome I would highly reccomend this to anyone who is either not shooting back tension or would like to perfect it.

i shoot 2 finger bt releases, and i can't explain why, but the stan is inconsistant. sometimes it won't go off, and sometimes it goes off as i'm drawing. i've got about 5 others and none of them are this way. like i said, it doesn't seem possible to me, but its true. it doesn't use the half moon others use, and i think the new design needs some work. your coach may tell you i'm just crazy - but i can execute a truball ultra 2, scott longhorn 2, scott longhorn 4 cut down to a 2 (best bt release ever), and any other you could find for me.

if you get a chance, attend one of larry's schools. its nice to get the book in person as well as some personalized instruction. also, take your time. its taken me a long time to get it. took rickjames 6 months of constant practice. took me 18 months, but only 6 of constant shooting.

as soon as you can shoot a 3 finger get a 2 finger - it'll keep you from learning bad habitsand ensure you're actually using back tension. that's from larry in person.

most of all - relax!

I'm similiar to gibblet, I don't like a Stans, or a "true" bt release. I've said it before and without sounding redundant, ALL releases should be shot with back tension, especially target shooting.

I use a Carter Hole in the Thing and active the pinky trigger. I then use back tension to trigger it. It's versital from thumb to pinky. It's similiar to this new version seen here at Carter's website: http://www.carterenterprises.com/products/hd2000.htm

similar on the stan, but alas we differ on the trigger issue. i'm hoping you come around to a triggerless................. but i'll hold my breath until i think i can shoot better than you, which may never happen.
