I shot Montecs last year and was very impressed with their performance, they are great broadheads. That being said, I too am a little taken back on how they handled the WHA situation. I understand the need to build your business but at what expense? So I picked up some razorcaps and have shot them. They also fly great and their design is pretty neat. They are also a cut on contact design but you can either re-sharpen them or replace the blades only, cool concept. They also have more cutting surface than the Montecs do.

I still havethe Montecs and since I alreadypurchased them I will most likely use them this yearagain, however I don't think I will buy any more due to the whole WHA fiasco. If the razorcaps work out like I think they will I will use them exclusively and sell the Montecs.

here is a link to their site.

My hunting buddy was shooting Montecs and he loved them at 20 and 30 yards, then went back to 50 and that was when the whistling became really noticeable and they would not group as well as field points. (Still pretty good though)He was turned off by the noise, so he bought I believe Wasp's Boss Bullets to tryand his groups tightened up at longer ranges and no whistling. This kid's bow is as tuned as one can get. The only thing I can think of is he is shooting 305 fps so maybe they can't take that kind of speed.

HelloRobert,

Thank you for your e-mail. We at G5 outdoors are very interested in your concerns. As of4:00 p.m. onJune 12, 2006we have withdrawn our support and sponsorship of the WHA. Our only intent was to grow archery. This is clearly not happening. Please explain to your friends and fellow hunters that G5 in no way intended to offend anyone and that we have listened to your voice. Thanks again for your correspondence.

Sincerely,

Greg, I know you must have missed this abovepost as some others did also. This was a reply in the thread you gave above. G5 pulled out according to this because "it was in no way growing archery". I actually like them better now than ever, since they listened to our voice when others would not. Hope this stands true for others as well.

LT

LT, thanks for taking the time to post that... and -- No, I had not seen it. Like you, I'm glad to see it -- but, I can tell you that the release was written after EVERYONE else had pulled their support of the fiasco and it was apparent that there was an extreme backlash from the hunting community.

Again, glad to see it... but I also know they were on the WHA's sinkingship until only the mast was sticking above water. Problem is, that Farbman guy's got enough money to keep the ball rolling even with the backlash from the hunting community at large.

Hopefully, G5's intentions as revealed in that release were true enough; I hope so. Just not convinced...
