G5 Montec or Slick Trick?
 

What do you think about the G5? I had the pro shop guy tell me they did the phone book test on the G5, Slicktrick, and the Innerlok(I think that's what they are called). He said that all three flew like field points. The big difference was the penetration. The Montec beat out the other 2 by 140 pages. That is pretty impressive. Now you guys hash it out and tell me which one is best for penetration. The Montec is the only COC head of the three so I believe as long as it flies like a field point I will consider it over the others.

LT, this probably has nothing to do with anything... but arent' the Montecs made by the same company who refused to back down on their support of the WHA, even while the whole hunting community was screaming its fool head off about the absurdity of it?

Again, nothing about the product... but that lurks in the back of my mind.

I'll be trying Slick Tricks this year. ;)

I bought both last year and the Slick Tricks just flew better out of my bow. So, Slick Tricks it was. One buck and one doe later (both went less then 40 yards) I was a Slick Trick believer!!!!

Greg I really know nothing about the WHA so I have no idea what it is or why they are supporting it. Are they supporting it with funds or word of mouth. I would really like a simple explanation.

Yep, I went back and pulled the old thread just for confirmation to make sure I didn't impune anyone needlessly... But it was G5 that backed the WHA until the bitter end.

You'll see my original response to this on post #4, and where I originally e-mailed G5 on the fifth page of the thread, which is post #47. I posted G5's public response on post #49. Taken by itself, it doesn't read too bad. But you've got to understand what an absolute FARCE almost the ENTIRE hunting community sees the WHA as, and G5 remained loyal to the end...

They will not see any of my money, period.

I just started shooting G5 Montecs and i love the way they fly and their penatration. I'll be using them this year.

From purely a product standpoint, I would bet they're great... It's a great concept (the Montec), and the only problems I remember hearing were about a "whistling".... Someone even posted a video of himself shooting several, and you could distinctly hear it. But I'm pretty sure that was last year's models, and I think that issue has been resolved.
