Anyone else have trouble with Blazers...??
I am trying to find out if anyone else has had issues with Blazer vanes... I am shooting Muzzy Phantoms, and they just aren't flying very Well... 2-3" group at 25 yards, which I know isn't bad... But it's not nearly as good as with my 4" vanes...

Well, first off, the more surface area stabilizing an arrow the quicker it'll stabilize. It's a balancing act. Arrow weight, FOC, form etc all fall into the mix. You'd never beable to convince one of these X shooting world class archerrs you can't shoot small vanes as well. Most shoot tiny vanes. They're the best and could shoot a broom handle if they could get it balanced. I think it's probably a combination of things for you. Probably some form, maybe some bow tune and the physical difference of a smaller control surface. A fixed broadhead should really magnify any of these concerns. It may be set up, you, arrow ... It may just be they aren't for you. If your groups have opened up with them, I'd change something.

I just switched to them after useing feathers for a long time and love them. I use magnus stingers with mine. I would jus go throught the routine of paper tuning and working out the tuning things before ya blame the blazers. If it's not tuning then try a different head. If it don't work for ya it don't work. oh.....make sure your blazers are not contacting anything on your rest too.

Well they shoot fine with everything the same except the blazers, so I can't really see how it's anything but that... Who knows... No reason really to shoot the blazers, other then the are the "New Thing"... I'll just stick to the old fashion way I guess...

Remember that the Blazers are lighter so they may be impacting the spine of your arrow which is affecting your tune. If your bow is tuned with 4" vanes, you probably just need to do some fine-tuning with the new Blazers.

RE: Anyone else have trouble with Blazers...??
I switched over to Blazers when I got my new arrows, and at first had a problem with like every 3rd shot. It seemed that my groups were wider than the old way.
I realized that the problem was that the Blazer fletchings stood out another 1/8 inch farther from the arrow shaft than the older 4" fletchings, nd that was causing the fletchings to hit/nick my cable during the shot if I turned the nock the same way I had on my older setup. I just turned the nock so it wouldn't do that, and I was fine. I now have no problems, and am shooting better than I was in the past (but I know that could just be from practice).
I'm not saying that this is the same problem here, but it might be worth checking?

Any change you make to either your bow or arrows will affect the tune, even though it could be quite minutely. I've not had any trouble w/ mine, but then again, at high speeds, I could NEVER get Muzzy's to fly. I think it's just like a shotgun or rifle. Each one shoots different loads better than others, same w/ a bow. Your's may not like them. Thank God we've got almost an infinite amount of choices available to us.

yea i'd second the "tune before quitting" suggestion. I recently refletched w/ blazers and they perform greatly. But i check my tuning after i make any changes in equipment. Id also think bout new heads... go for the stingers, in my testing they flew better than muzzy.
