I was wondering if many people use a decoy when bowhunting? I would like to tell a quick story that I learned about using a Renzo decoy. An old timer talked me into getting one, and I was kind of skeptical about it, but I went ahead and bought one. It turned out to be a very good investment. He had told me to put it about 15yds. in front of my ladder stand at about a 45 degree angle away. I used a white rag for the tail and dipped it into tinks. He had told me that the buck would approach from the back side and kind of funnel in behind it. The funny part of the story is that every time the buck got in line with cardboard decoy he thought it was gone, so he would come back around and see it form the side. This went on for a while, then he met his match.Has anyone else used this decoy?

I had a guy tell me a similiar story. He said when deer approach it and they get in line with it they get confused. My experience with the featherflex bedded decoy is deer get alarmed. Now I've never used the Renzo for whitetail so I'm look forward to others opinions.

I went for it all and bought the Carry-Lite deke... used it just a couple times last year, and pulled a solid 125"er to it that I elected to let go, took a yearling doe beside it, and had a monster 150+ come in after shooting light to it -- all in the same day.
I'll be using it again next year...

The archery coach I used to work with has a carry lite. He and my main hunting partner have both killed quite a few deer over it including several pretty good bucks. I used it last year a bit and had nothing but positive responses from deer, however I passed them and didn't have a chance to see a real slammer react to it. I do have quite a few spots where deer have the ability to see quite a distance where I hope a decoy would help draw them in. The one big food plot I have which is 125 yards long I hope to use a decoy on the one corner to hopefully draw deer in and position them within shooting distance.

I've got one but not used it much. Never had a great response when using it. Last year though, I went hunting on a buddy's ground with him. He wanted to use the decoy so I brought it. You can guess, an hour later he was standing over a 130"er that came running to the decoy. Just my luck.
I'm not gonna lone it out this year, but try it more myself.
