When do you set up your tree stands? Why?

I hang them early as possible to allow the deer to get used to it. I have some stands that have been up for years, but if it is a new location I get it out as early as possible with the camo scarecrow in it. Anyone ever do this??

I try and leave them in all year. I will check on them in July and then maybe one more time the first week of September. Other then that I try to leave them alone. If I add it will be after season in Jan. or Feb. If I want to hunt a spot where there is no stand i will sit on the ground or use a climber
