Default BLIND SETUP QUESTION

Ok guys, I have hunted turkeys from blinds before with success, but not deer. I live in Montana and some places just don't work for treestands. My question is, has anyone set up a blind and hunted or killed a deer that same hunt? Or do you set up in advance and leave the blind there? Do you brush your blind in or put in the wide open like turkey hunting?

While I haven't killed any deer out of my blind, I have set them up for an evening hunt and had deer come by that same evening.

As far as brushing them in goes, that's something you always want to do. You want to break up the hard lines of the roof and edges. Every little bit helps, but make sure if nothing else you get that roof broken up.

Yea I have with my Double Bull T5.
Carried it in early before sunrise, set it up in some thick brush about 20 yards off a well used trail.
Coverd it with some branches ( roof too ) blended real good with the brush, put out doe pee sent in front of the blind.
Waited for a couple of hours, hit a nice seven point right in the boiler room before 11:00 am.

last season where i have a tree stand that i didnt feel like going up cause my seat was broken i decided to sit on the ground but made a small blind that morning and ended up shooting a doe during m/l within 15-20yards of my blind ,somtimes i enjoy making ground blinds in the woods instead of using my tree stands so they do work,i set that blind up in the morning and shot that doe at 9.00, couldnt ask for a better day

my blinds aren't carried in, I find good sign, locate a large softwood and hollow out enough room to climb in and sit, with myback to the trunk and the bows for my seat.No need for sent-suppressive suits as the fresh cut spruce covers all.
I've done this successfully in the same day, makes for light travel .
