I think it's advantages are obvious. no contact with the rest at any point in time means no friction between the arrow and the rest. This would increase your speed, even if marginally.
Disadvantages? You have to load the arrow in backwards, as in fletch first.
I haven't had a chance to try one out, but I've read a bit about them. I doubt I'll rush out and spend the $140 they're asking for it.

this rest can only be used with certain arrows and requires a special insert for the arrows which would increase the price and desirebility....I'm gonna stick with my drop away from trophy ridge

There are a few posts about this rest, one is pretty recent if you go back a few pages. I don't like the concept, but there is a guy here that has one and loves it.
Just type air rest into the search engine and you should get a few hits. It's been talked about 4 or 5 times I think.
