Default Hind Sight Rear Mounted Sight

Has anybody used this rear mounted sight? I am wanting some more accuracy and my peep sight is not doing it for me. Even with a lot of practice.

It sounds like a good concept.

I shoot a rifle type sight i think it called an eradicator. it elimnates such problems as bow torque and the need for a peep. but it has its draw backs such as you only have 1 pin and the front blade is much wider than a standard pin thus you must be carfull to center your target in your sight picture. I dont think it would be necessarily more accurate than a standard pin and peep config. but it does fit a specific set of needs that are compatible with my shooting / hunting style.
I dont know if what your talking about is the same design or not but this one incorporates a blade in front of the riser and a dove tail behind they are about 4-6 in apart.
Hope this helps
Bob

I've used it and it was a pain to set up for me. I don't know why, but it just seemed that I couldn't get it right. After getting it set up, it worked fine for your 20 yard pin, but the other pins are not centered in the crosshairs, and I just was not very accurate with it. I hear really good things about the Timberline No-Peep if you want to eliminate a peep sight.

I bought it last year and used it but took it off and went back to the peep. It is a great idea but like so many other products, close but no cigar. The problem I had was the cross hairs were too thick. They block out most of your sight picture. In the dark the florescent (sp?) coating on the cross hairs completely washed out any sight of your target. It worked great as long as my target was in bright sunshine but if the target was in any kind of shadows it was difficult to see the target. Cmdr 45: Your are supposed to pick a pin that you will use for the hindsight. Remember, this is used to get a consistent anchor and alignment. If you use your twenty yard pin only the tenty yard pin will be centered when you are at anchor. That will be the only pin that will be cenetered. So how do use the other pins? You center the hindsight with your twenty yard pin (if that is the pin you chose to use with the hindsight) and put your thirty yard pin on your target. It works great except for what I mentioned above.

Go to this sight www.hindsightco.com/HSMultiPins.htm and it will give you a good idea of what I'm trying to say.

The harder I work, the luckier I get!

I did understand how to use it when I was trying it. It was just I couldn't group well enough for me to have confidence in it. I'm sure the fault was with me, but I didn't want to risk it.

For peepless, I don't think you can beat the no-peep, especially on a hunting bow. I highly recommend you check this option out.

I agree with Rangeball; got a No-peep on my bow 2 yrs ago, and will never look back. The new bow that I purchase in another couple of months will have a No-peep on as well.

IMHO, there is no better peepless solution than the No-peep.

I bought the hindsight a couple of weeks ago. It was easy to setup. I aligned it with my peep before taking the peep off. After that it didn't take long at all to site in. Visually I haven't run into any problems with not being able to see my target. Grouping has been good. I don't shoot at the same spot on my block anymore. CX 300s are to spendy for that. Shooting your other pins does take a little to get used to, but after practicing for a while it becomes very automatic and your anchor point becomes very consistant and habbit forming quick. The only draw back that I found was that the metal mounts that hold the crosshair don't stay tight. They are good for about 3 shots and they loosen. To remendy that I just sighted in my pin then put super glue on each at the threads. Cured it fine. All in all I think you would like the sight. I have been very happy with it and if your torquing your bow the slightest it shows your mistake so you can correct it before letting the arrow fly. Amazing to see how much the slightest of torque will through your arrow off 3-4 inches at 20yards. I was testing it out to see the affect it would have. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
