We have a 20 foot elevated platform at our club with broadhead targets at 20 and 30 yards. Last year, we put 2 additional targets out and we take turns from the stand. There is a hoist rope that I attach a quiver to and a buddy will pull arrows and place in the quiver after you shoot for you to hoist up and shoot again. This year, in addition to the club, I intend to practice from my climber into a block target.A friend will be moving the target/pulling arrows and passing them back up to me. After I shoot for a bit, he'll climb into his stand and I'll do the same for him.

I am a deck man too. 20'up. I have kids get my arrows untilI get tired.(Field points only!) I tape a box on the deck to keep my feet in when I shoot.

I built an arrow hauler that can hold all of myarrows (about 30 or so). I have three targets that I set up at various distances. I shoot all 30 arrows and I'm done for the night. I only climb up once.

That works, cept I never have 30 arrows made up. Personal choice I guess, but maybe I want to change the fletch or arrow wrap, or something, so usually just a dozen made up with 6 for practice and 4-6 for hunting, set up the same. Then after I have wore out the practice, I verify the hunting fly the same and off to the woods. After season, the six get 'retro' fitted for the next year and the years hunting arrows become practice. Have about 3 dozen shafts in case of breaks, cracks, RHs, or loss[:'(][8D][8D]

JL, first thank you for keeping me safe!!!

Why do you have so many arrows? Are you hunting anywhere other then NY? I thought NY had no deer to shoot from all of the post I've seen.

Well you are welcome, don't mind much at all.

About three years ago I purchased about three dozen .230 shafts off eBay. So I keep them handy to replace arrows as lost or broken.

Believe me there are deer, just got to be in the right place. I think in Northern NY where Fort Drum is, if it has horns it gets shot, spikes, forks, one side, anything, so bucks are few and far between and lots of guys wont shoot does. Guess haven't figured, less does, more bucks, more bigger racks..... anyway, there are deer and LOTS OF TURKEYS!

The Central and Southern part of NY, they have some big ens from what I hear. Never got to hunt there, but that is where some guys go that are looking for bigger bucks. And the seasons are a little later then the Northern part so you can hunt the north and many have friends a realitves in the southern part so they drop down.

Me I take it where I can......... and doe meat taste just like buck meat and way better than antlers! [8D]

PS: One of these days I might be able to find somewhere to be in the right place for a good buck! [8D]

WELL I'M LUCKY I GUESS, ME AND MY HUNTING PARTNER SHOOT A LOT ON WEEKENDS. WE USE TWO TARGETS ONE WILL SHOOT AND THE OTHER ONE STAYS ON THE GROUND. WE WILL SHOT THREE ARROWS IN EACH TARGET THEN THE OTHER GUY GETS THEMS AND PUTS THEM IN A BUCKET WHICH THE SHOOTER PULLS UP. BEFORE MY PARTNER I USE TO TRY AND GET MY WIFE TO HELP ME.
BE CAREFULL AND GOOD HUNTING.
