Nice bird! I just drove through Nebraska on my way home from AZ and I sawa lot of birds....... made my mother-in-law nervous w/ me driving at 85mph and looking for wildlife. I was hoping to see more deer but only saw 3, one large bodied and 2 smaller ones, Nebraska is a beautiful state...... and the platte river is home to some monster whitetails. Kind of funny.... I saw lots of vehicles parked along the interstate and figured they were doing the same as you. One guy should have sat at his truck, only 20-30yds away was a group of 6 birds 2 toms and 4 hens. The highest bird densities I saw (near the interstate) were close to North Platte, in all but one case the birds were in groups, and the single looked like a tom but was probabley 150yds+ away.
