In the January 2005 issue of Deer Hunter, they listed the tops deer states in this order:
1) TX-4,000,000 +
2)MI-1,750,000
3) WI-1,200,000
4) PA-1,600,000
5)AL-1,600,000
NOTE: I'm not sure how accurate this data is.

Our deer population is between 900K and 1mil. here in the Bluegrass (KY)We harvest around 110K year with a one buck limit. I believe that this is the reason for the number of quality aminals that are harvested each year.

I totally agree Serioushunter. Some states DNR and officials are just plain "GREEDY" and only care about the $$$$$$ and not the deer population.
