A few year ago about 10 yr or so, Correct me if I am wrong KY hunters, population was very low and in some county no Turkey where even their. And to date we have a good size population I really don't know the number maybe some other KY hunters may know the exact number. How large is the population in your state.

There is two ways of looking at the numbers, number of turkeys in the state and number of turkeys per square mile. I'm sure you'll find that Missouri has the most per square mile and Texas might have them beat in total number for a state just because of the size of the state.

Texas has the most and then Georgia is next from last years count. The thing about Texas is those turkeys aren't all over the state. They are pretty centrally located in the areas that have them. Kentucky has about 140,000 turkeys and George Wright beliefs the biological max is around 200,000. The growth that will occur will all be in the eastern portion of the state.
