It's a given that there are monsters everywhere but from the standpoint of habitat, weather, food supply, and genetics... Is there a state that is crowned king with respect tobody weight and antler size?

I don't think you can limit it to any one state. There have been lots of different states that have really turned out some monsters already this year.
I think you would have to look at it from ths perspective of the biggest bucks with the least amount of pressure and having readily available tags to hunt them.
I will say that at least for 2006, I think Ohio is ruling the roost. Kentucky has been hittin on a lot too. At least for this season, they are on top. But I'm sure there have been a done of big deer killed that we just don't know about yet.

I saw an article this year stating that of all the B&C bucks over 200" killed in the US they all came from 10 states. If you look at the chart most of the B&C of any size came from those same 10 states. I'll have to find that chart online because the mag is in my Dad's truck ATM.

I saw a chart one time showing the number of P&Y entries compared to licenses sold and the highest percentage of book entries compared to hunters was Iowa I believe.

This mapindicates bothP&Y and B&C totals from every county in the country, the website says it's "current" info. I think it's pretty obvious when looking at this map where most of the big bucks come from .
