who bowhunts alone?

I always like to bowhunt alone. I think it really cuts down on scent. If I shoot a big one, I go back to camp and get my Polaris Ranger and winch it into the box.

Never really thought about it, but i guess it's bout 50/50. I really only havefour frieds that hunt, one wont do mornings, the other relys on himself for a paycheck(I think he needs to priortise better...) and this past year th 7&10 year olds have even came along a few times, and a two hour travel to meet the other two, but if noone else is able to go it's still HUNT ON...
The two I travel to see, and I ALWAYS plan a four day weekend for BOW CAMP..in late OCT. so I usually only see or hunt with themat that time...

I too bow hunt alone most of the time mostly because I use all my vacation P days sick days and swap days as much as I can during hunting season. My frends can't get that much time off. I have already worked it out that I have the hole month of Nov. off and I 'm slowly but surly working on Dec. When I get a deer I just do the best I can I gut it out and drag it out a little at a time and I'm the type who hunts at least 1/2 mile in the woods so it takes a while. (I'm not as young as I used to be) I bought a deer cart but I think it's more work trying to push that thing in the woods getting stuck on everything, there for logging roads and well maintained paths.

I go it alone about 99% of the time. I have several buddies taht bowhunt, but only one shares the same woods that I do. We are really fortunate to have several really good woods to hunt that the landowners only give the 2 of us permission. We set up all stands together etc. Very rarely do we hunt the same woods together at the same time. But on some occasions we will hunt together and video each other. He is a school teacher and is taking classes to get his masters degree so he only hunts about 1/4 of the time that I do. Whenever me or any of my buddies or dad get a deer we start calling each other for the track job or recovery. It is cool to have everyone together for the recovery. My wife and daughter also go out with me once in a while early season, but once it gets cold they are done. But getting back to the original question, I am usually alone.

This yearI did alot of bowhunting alone. My father has a bad shoulder and couldn't pull his bow back.
The doe I got I gutted and dragged to the road and he came up with his truck and we loaded it in the back.
I have shot deer alone but they were small enough for me to load in the trunk of my car alone.

If you asked last year I would have said 100 percent of the time alone, however have started taking my son, 4 years old with me. I use a double bull blind when I take him. Have not gotten anything with him yet but hopefully that will change this year.
