I keep my bow hoist rope at a length of 20 feet, and this is how high I practice from, so I try to get to the end of my rope at 20ft, but I have been higher and sometimes not so high depending on the obstruction of view.

i dont bow hunt yet...but my treestand for rifle season is about 16-18ft high....and when i went to video tape my friend bow hunting we went about 25 ft....i was comfortable about there and you will find me around 25-30ft next year when i buy my own climber and bow hunt...
