I have owned the same Scott caliper release for 12 years. I haven't had any trouble with it at all......
My friend, on the other hand has bought two Scott releases in two months, and HAS had trouble with them....
The draw length adjusting screw on his Lil' Goose release came loose TWICE, even though we were sure it was tight when we set it up......
.......THEN the jaw of the release started separating so much that his string loop would slip right through, sending expensive carbon arrows to parts unknown!!!!! (he sent this release back to Scott Mfg. last week)
Last Sunday he bought an Ol' Faithful release....
He removed the string loop (because he couldn't use it with this release.), placed a nock and cushion nock on the bow, and re-tuned. Last Thursday night the string broke on his release!!! He hadn't shot the release 100 TIMES!!!!(using a Mathews Legacy set on 70lb.)
Has quality control gone out the window at Scott in the past few years??? Has anyone else had the same trouble???
I think when the time DOES come for me to replace my 12 year old Scott caliper, I'm going to get a Tru-Ball.....has anyone tried the Tornado w/ loopmaster head??

My bro-in-law decided to change from the wrist strap to a grip version of the lil' goose. He called scott and they sent the grip, a lil' goose adapter, and two hats free. He spoke directly to the president (Jennifer? Scott) when he called because she answered the phone herself. Both of my bro-in-laws use Scott's and love them. Both of their releases are under a year old. I don't think you would be disappointed in the Tru-Ball. The Stinger is my preferred release and I love it.

I've been using Scott since I started using a release... probably 10 or 12 years. I switched from the Caliper to the Lil Goose when I went to the loop also. My first Lil Goose seemed to get a little spongy feeling just before my trip to NY so I picked up a second one in case I needed it. If you're having trouble I understand they'll take them back and rebuild or anything. Call them. I have 2 of their caliper types and no problems except I had one that had some burrs on the jaws and I had to polish them off. They were working on the string and loops. I had another that broke when I lowered myself from a treestand with a little force, had the thing on and it got hung in the stand popping the end right off into "Never Never Land".
