I've been using Scott since I started using a release... probably 10 or 12 years. I switched from the Caliper to the Lil Goose when I went to the loop also. My first Lil Goose seemed to get a little spongy feeling just before my trip to NY so I picked up a second one in case I needed it. If you're having trouble I understand they'll take them back and rebuild or anything. Call them. I have 2 of their caliper types and no problems except I had one that had some burrs on the jaws and I had to polish them off. They were working on the string and loops. I had another that broke when I lowered myself from a treestand with a little force, had the thing on and it got hung in the stand popping the end right off into "Never Never Land".
