My right shoulder( drawing shoulder) burns reall bad when I drawmy bow. This started about a month ago, so I stopped shooting for a while to let it heal. I shot tonight twice and it burns something aweful. Guess I'll be calling the DR. Which bows draw the smoothest? BOWTEC,MATHEWS, or HOYT?

Let's get your shoulder fixed before we go looking for a new bow. Does it hurt to throw overhand? If so, this is an indicator of a torn rotator cuff. Can you hold your arm over your head without terrible pain? If you haven't shot for a month, and 2 shots makes your shoulder hurt, you are right in wanting to get to the doctor. It could be nothing serious at all, but then again........It could be quite serious. Only one way to find out. Let's get that fixed, then if you want the smoothest drawing bow out there, we'll figure out which HOYT is right for you.
Seriously, get it checked out.

MOBO I can throw fine and it doesn't hurt to hold my arm over my head. I wonder if something on my bow is in a bind? I'll have to check it out. I need to get to the DR. then if everything is fine to the gym.

The same exact thing happened to me about a year ago, a burning sensation in the shoulder itself when drawing. Especially bad at the end of a practice sessioin. I took 1 month off as well, and it didn't help. After going to my doctor I learned that 1 month was not enough time for my shoulder to actually heal. I didn't have a torn cuff, mine was tendon and ligament related. I had to take a good 3 months off from shooting, but I didn't need surgery and it doesn't hurt me at all.
Definitely see the doc though. If it is something small or the beginning of a tear.... continuing to shoot with it will definitely land you under the knife.

tendenitis is probably what you have. try not to over use your shoulder for the nest 2 to 3 months. take ibprofen on a regular basis to help with the inflamation and ice it regularly. i have long knowledge of this from pitching for most of my life. do not rush it. it will only make matters worse.

I tore my rotator a couple of years ago and could no longer shoot my mathews outback, so I went shopping. I got a bowtech Liberty with the Freedom Cams. Totally AWESOME. I can still pull 70 lbs but it feels like I'm only pulling55 or so. I was and still am amazed. My shoulder hasn't heeled and still hurts all of the time but I can still shoot my bow pain free. I cranked it down once and my wife shot it pulling 53 lbs and she struggles to shoot 45 on her own bow. I'd definitely give one a try.
