Extreme Withdrawls... ?? for those with repaired shoulders
#1
Well I've finally figured outhow to button my pants and tie my shoes with one hand... among other things
. Then all my buddiesstarted getting rigged up for 3-D, and not being able to shoot my bow is KILLING me!!!
Anyway I was wondering for those of you that have had full rotator cuff surgery (or other shoulder surgery), how long was it before you were shooting again? My buddy was out for about 6 weeks after orthroscopic, so I'm assuming it will be longer than that.
I'm hoping that in about 6 weeks from now or so I'll be able to start building my bow muscles again with some shooting on a light bow. Does this sound feasible? The surgery was on 12/14/06. Thanks!!

Hey dwd! If it's a full-blown-repair of a torn rotator cuff, then I believe you're not even allowed to put ANY weight on the shoulder for six weeks, and then no more than a couple pounds worth after that!
Sorry to say, from what I've talked to with my doctor and a couple guys who have had repair work done, you're looking at a full 12 weeks until you should even think about drawing a bow.
You don't want to tear that thing again!
