Do you hunt on Public land or leased private land

RE: Do you hunt on Public land or leased private land
Up until 2 years ago I hunted all private land here in IL. When I lost one of my better spots I was pretty much forced into having to lease if I wanted to find anywhere decent to go. The past 2 seasons I have leased land and it's worked out very well for us. Yeah it sucks having to fork out cash for a spot to hunt, but that's just the way things are going. You certainly cannot blame the farmers and landowners for wanting to recoup some of their expenses and when it comes right down to it I don't mind helping them out. Unfortunately things are getting a bit out of hand in certain areas but if you can find the right person you can still find a good spot for a decent price.

98% of all of my hunting is done on public land. The bad part is that one of my favorite places to hunt is starting to be over run with a$$holes on 4 wheelers.

In terms of deer hunting and bowhunting in particular 100% of my hunting is done on public land.
I hunt pheasant and goose though on farm-game co-ops which, technically, would be considered non-leased private land.
