Default Bowhunting Illinois Public Land

I'm looking for suggestions for hunting Illinois public land. Preferrably in the Southern/Southwestern part of the state. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Bowhunting Illinois Public Land

in the southern half of the state is shawnee national forest. i hunt down there for a week every fall. there is not alot of pressure for bow season, but it can get crowded for shot gun. there is camping at dixon springs park, which is south east. there are miles of forest to hunt, but be prepared to hike (no atv's) you can find alot of info if you got to the dnr website and search "hunt shawnee". http://dnr.state.il.us
