New Easton Arrows
#1
Have any of you ever used the new easton arrows called full metal jacket I think. They are the ones that have a carbon core and an aluminum skin. Do they work very good. Are they worth the money?

May be good for big game hunters or for those who go to extreme on the momentum theory. They are pretty heavy, so I had a hard time getting the FOC where I like it. The only way I could get it to work was to install a 125 grain tip and some weight inserts. With all of that said, it was over kill for blacktail deer in my area.I'm sure they have their purpose, but the weight (gpi) was the deciding factor for me. I'll stick with 340 spine arrowsright around 9.5 (gpi) for hunting purposes. These new arrows are 11.1 gpi for a 340 spine arrow. For the average hunter that is heavy, but for big game hunting I can seethat the FMJwould really shine.

I'm up in the air on the new Easton FMJ shafts right now. 11.1 gpi is certainly on the heavy side for aluminum/carbon composite arrows but in the grand scheme of things it's not really all that heavy when compared to your run of the mill XX75 aluminum arrow. 2315's are nearly 11.7 gpi and I shot them through plenty of deer in my day.
I might give the FMJ a try but I'm leaning more towrds the a/c SuperSlims.
