Default Easton arrows

Greetings. I was wondering what the opinions likes dislikes etc were regarding the Easton Axis ST arrows. I know they have the slimmer shafts with thicker walls but I wanted to see if anyone has any experiences with them as far ar shooting and hunting go. I'm sure the most logical upgrade would be going to the Carbon Express Maximas but I wanted to see what the word was on the Axis ST's first because I can get a really good deal on a dozen. Thanks in advance!

You could do no wrong w/ the Axis. Very, very good arrows. Tight tolerances and tough to boot. Great arrows, great choice.

I have been shooting Axis ST 340s for 2 years. I have 6 of the original dozen. I will soon be buying another dozen. I have them fletched with Blazers using a right helical. Good tough arrows.

I have received a number of compliants concerning the AXIS shafts.

# 1 - The shafts tend to crack or break immediately behind the back of the insert when shooting with practice blades that are not sharp. The thinner shaft wall seems to fail during anabrupt impact even with layered targets. This leadsme to believe that they would not perform well if heavy bone contact occurs.

I have personally broken many AXIS shafts on my arrow disentegrator where numerous other carbon shafts have survived to shoot another day.

Not saying it's not true, but that's the first negatives I've EVER heard on the Axis.

Hey Jesse,
I did hear the first Axis arrows had some problems but I think the newer ones are fine. I had some of the first ones but sold them before I had them very long. I have been using the CE Maxima Hunters and I really like them. I also have used the GT's but like you said they are getting tougher to find.
