I firmly beleive that the key to hunting and seeing/killing deer is being able to identify any and all funnels, play the wind, and hunt high!
One of my favorite funnels is on public ground, I watch everyone walk right by it all the time to go "deeper" in the woods. It is real close to the parking lot but the landscape all falls into this funnel and there is a "gate" opening right where they leave the woods and head into the fields. Last time I was there I had a group of 15 or so does walk in and I took two of them home with me.

You're right on the money talking about the reactivation being B.S. You have to reheat carbon up to 1200 degrees to reactivate it. Unless you're drier doubles as an incinerator it's not going to work to reactivate. The way to go now is silver. X scent seems to be doing a good job. You don't have to reactivate it. The military uses it in there socks because soldiers may go days without being able to change their socks. The silver needs not to be reactivated and therefore always works. I don't know the prices on it but i've been doing lots and lots and lots and lots of reading on it. The best way to do it is to shower down in the morning and evening before your hunts with scent killer, keep your clothes in a scent free bag, spray down before you go into the woods, and DO NOT put your clothes on before you get to the field. YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON WHEN YOU GET TO THE FIELD, AND THEY MUST BE TAKEN STRAIGHT OUT OF YOUR SCENT FREE BAGS. That's my input.

It sure wakes you up, that's for sure!! I like being FREEZING cold right at the start...I can usually get to my stand without sweating, even while wearing all my clothes...I hate carrying clothes.

If you are stripping down to put your clothes on in the field,how do you keep your feet from getting wet in the rain or snow? Tarp?

I keep my stuff in a big airtight plastick storage box...I put the lid on the ground. I've also put other things like door matts in my truck to use.

I bought a Fleece Scent Blocker suit this year. It was somewhat expensive, but I figured something I wear 30-35 times a year is worth the money. I saw more deer on average this year than any other season, including more big bucks.

I had killed deer with my bow this year though. I always used scent blocker, washed my clothes, and showered in scent free soap to help mask my scent. When I added my Scent Blocker suit to all this I thought it helped greatly. 3 seperate occasions I had deer within 7 feet (not yards), and twiceI wason the ground.

Just wanted to reply to the longevity issue in this post. The "reactivate" your Scent-Lok or Blocker suit, just throw it in a dryer and then immediately into an airtight bag. This will free up enough space for another 40-50 hours of hunting.

You do not need to wash it in the washer to do any "reactivation". The wash cycles are what shorten the life of a suit. Our camera and television teams hunt more then anyone I know and they only wash them when they have saturated it with extremly muddy conditions, extremely hot conditions and got them bloody.

I hunt pretty regularly and only wash mine twice to three times a year. We say they are good to over twenty washings (after thirty you may want to invest in a new one) hence mine should last 10 years.

Also, the main key to the whole system is using the whole suit including a headcover. OVer 35% of scent comes from your head and neck area. The next most important thing is keeping it activated.
