monsterbuckland,

That buck still has bright red in his nose!!! Red is fresh ok? Ever see 5-6 day old dried and cacked blood? It's a very dark maroon, almost blackish. In addition to the 5-6 day old dead buck's necknot beingbendable (which insn't the case in the pic) the eyes would have no shine to them (which againisn't the case in the pic)

A wise man once said "just because someone believes something to be true, thatdoesn't make it the truth."

Your buddy recovered someone else's buck whether you or he wants to believe it or not.

That buck won't break 95. Tell your buddy( sure shot jimmy )that he needs to attend another scoreing class. It is a nice buck for your area so maybe you ought to put an add in the paper and try to find the real shooter.

You guys should all be on Unsolveed Mysteries because this story is nothing but a mystery. No flippin way that deer laid for a few weeks. He was killed just prior to that picture being taken. Heck his eyeballs still look like they have moisture on them. Someone call Sherlock Holmes because we need to get to the bottom of this.
LOL Bob ..thats not moisture you see its the reflection from the spot light !!

Well guys I know that I shot a little buck with my bow and I couldn't find it until about a week later and when I did there was nothing but bones, legs, and the head with the antlers.

my friend had a sweet 8 come in, shot it @ 4 yrds straight down and threw it bled great first 30 yards and beds down, this is 7 am,,,,, i mean alotta blood not drops , piles,,, then beds, gets up goes 30 yards beds again, gets up 20 yrds beds again behind a tree and not visible and seemed to be dying,,,, all 3 beds had a basketball size blood stain, so he waits 2 hours and gets out and starts the search, the thing got up and took off, he left and called me and another and we went to get it, yeah right! we had blood 500 yards away, you know drops and then it jumped a downed tree and there was a puddle, like a glass full of blood in one spot then 2 more drops in 10 yards then nothing, i mean nothing at all, we spent 5 hours out there and no deer! makes me sick! what would you do??
And this is his new post

i wrote a thread a few weeks ago about an 8pter my friend shot and it bled like crazy but we couldnt find it! well he found it! heres a pic, scores 128.5 typical as well!

http://home.nycap.rr.com/crazydog/images/burkee2005eightpter.jpg

holy! what is this judge judy! im not lying! it wasnt 2 weeks it was like 5-6 days and yes it was very cold and thats the truth! yes the animals got at it but luckily there was that left and about the score there wizards,,,,, the guy is an official scorer that shot it, the pic does it no justice its really thick and a 17 in inside spread! so believe or not those are the facts! it will be in the p&y book! and for this area in ny, thats a slammer! we dont have 190's running around because its the suburbs and theres no farms still working so no real good food!
I have to agree with the others on this thread. You posted your first entry on the 13th of november. Then you come here on the 24th of november and say you found your deer.Thats 11 days later, close enough to 2 weeks.I dought the deer was in that good of shape even after5-6 days as you say.Coyotes, ravens and animals in general would have lived off the deer carcas till it was all gone.Especially with snow on the ground and getting cold.
I highly dought that the eyes would have been intact, let alone still have a glare in them. They should have been dried out and caved in.The blood also looks to fresh to me as well. Its all just a little to fishy for me.
Do you have a pic of the whole deer, the one with the arrow going straight down through him.?Only pic I see is a head shot with glazing eyes and fresh blood.I truly believe this deer is either someone elses fresh kill or yourbuds saying you recovered it to get everyone off your back about not recovering it.
I am not judging the score of the deer because pics can be deceiving.

If in fact this deer was laying dead for5-6 days, and it is in the shape the pic describes then I truely appologise for coming across to strong, but it just looks to fishy to me.
Congrats to who ever shot him,he looks to be a nice 7 pointer

" />

Here is a pic of him again so everyone dosnt have to scrool back to page one

[:-]Man,,what a strange topic to run on for 6 + pages.
You guys should also keep inmind that for N.Y. thats a freakin GREAT BUCK !!!!!!!,,why ?,because....NEW YORK SSSUUUCCCKKKSSS !!!!!!!.
The last few years this state has been going down hill,,BIG TIME.The DEC just keeps plugging along,,guessing whats best for the deer herd.Fewer and fewer deer,,and almost NO AGE STRUCTURE...Nothing but scrubs,,spikes, crotch horns, blaaaaaaaaa,,,,but, some guys look forward to getting a shot at a crotch horn [&:] BIG DEAL
This state needs QDM !!!!!!!!!!!,,not just parts of it,,ALL of it.I have passed up sooooo many spikes and forkys,,only to know that most of them would get blasted by some big blaze orange D-bag......der,,I gots me my buck [8D],,he must weigh atleast a buck 80,,big ol boy.
Lets see,,move from NY for a new job,,maybe
move forbetter weather,not a,,well,maybe
move to a state with QDM, and the history to proveIT WORKS...IN A HEART BEAT

The eyes are the dead giveaway. Kill a deer then save the head, look at the eyes two days later...they won't shine like that. NO WAY did that deer lay dead for 5 or 6 days. JMO

obviously the taxidermist got to it before any animals, and did a laying down, dead looking, full body mount. glass eyes, fake blood in the nose, the whole deal. happens all the time.
