women that hunt

I think it would be cool to date a girl that hunted. For one, you could have alot of fun in the woods if you know what i mean lol.. and for two, its definatly something you both can relate to. A buddy of mine's gf hunts also, but she gets the fever really bad - even if a piddly buck comes in. speaking of women that hunt... check this one out!!

Paul I understand what you are saying. I am no spring chicken myself. I also am devorced with 2 boys (10 and 8) which I have custody of I might add. But I still like to get away and my new g/f just dont get it. I love taking my boys with, but I dont every time. I love to get out with the fellas and drink beer after the kill, i love to brew up a big ol' pot of chilli the 6th day in camp. That is what stories are made of. With the ol' lady around they are definetly down scaled.

My wife is one of my favorite hunting partners, she's a great shot with a bow and is taking the hunter safety course with our boys this summer to gun hunt next year. She does draw the line however at getting up before dawn, she'd rather sleep in!
We've been on a guided elk hunt for our 15th anniversary which was awesome to share with her, she then sent me on one for my 40th bday, and now dropped the bomb that on our 20th (2007) she wants to go elk hunting!
She'll be turkey hunting this spring, though not at the crack of dawn, if she can get a class in by then. Loves hunting and seeign the animals, just doesn't like getting up so early.
My annual week away bowhunting, she'd fit right in, hunting partners and I are not big drinkers anyway, my wife and I had our turn at keeping the liquor industry afloat, now its someone elses turn [8D]
to each thier own. Between my two boys and wife, and toss in my hunting partner, I have 4 folks I love to hunt with!.

I started hunting last year, my brother convinced me to take the hunter's safety course with my niece so she wouldn't be the only girl there. Almost half the class was girls. My husband was thrilled last year when I came home with my first deer. My brother was ecstatic this year when I went archery hunting with him, he saw more deer than he's ever seen when I was around. My husband is going bear hunting next week with the guys, the following week I'm going deer hunting with my brother and niece. If we don't get anything then on he weekend my husband will hunt with us. If you meet the right person, you can both do what you love and still be happy.

I fionse just started hunting about a year ago. Now she loves it. She's already taken a few animals. Hopefully here in a couple weeks, she can take a nice WT buck.

And this past springwhile turkey hunting, we got a "double". She shot first and I shot 2nd. Got 2 toms. Don't have a picture of that one on the computer though.

TeeJay, I fully understand where you coming from as well. Being the Anti Social person that I am
I need a lot of alone time. I wouldn't want her up my butt every minute either, and she understands that. If she did decide to deer hunt I might hunt next to her a few times until she gets the hang of it. After that she is on her own. That is how I do it with my friends. We might meet up before the hunt if our schedules coincide, but we go our seperate ways after that. And we meet at the end of the night to talk about what we saw, or help if someone got one.
As far as the pre season stuff, she is already a part of that.
We do turkey hunt together though (my hunting buddy, not my girlfriend). Normally we try to draw different weeks for turkey, that way we can hunt longer. One calls while the other shoots.
Keep in mind my girlfriend does not live with me, so we are not on top of each other all the time. That makes a difference. And she has two kids, so most of what we do is family oriented. I'm not your typical guy either. I don't drink anymore, I don't like bars, and I don't like sports other than hunting and nascar. I think my girlfriend is more of a man than I am?[
] She likes football and other sports. And it's not that I am opposed to drinking, I just did too much of it when I was younger and now my body can't take it anymore.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, I was trying to say that if you were into the male bonding thing then having your girl there might be a pain. I'm not like that though, so it's not a big deal to me.
