I am a very serious hunter. There is very little that comes between me and hunting, especially bowhunting. When I talk about hanging around buddies, I'm not just referring to the hunting part. I'm referring to when you or a buddy sticks a deer, the blood trail. Or after you or a buddy gets a deer, hanging out in a garage, drinking beer, skinning deer, talking about 'guy' stuff. Or if you do a hunting camp thing, after dark, sitting around a fire, drinking beer, and again talking about 'guy' stuff.

It is alright to be a very serious hunter and still have a little fun with your buddies. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with my fiance, but there is some things I would just rather do with my buddies.

But like I say.... opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one.

I used to think that way too. But I've come to conclusion that you don't want to date/marry a girl who loves to hunt or fish. Hunting and Fishing is a great opportunity to bull$hit with your buddies, drink beer, talk about when you used to play football, good fights, the good parties, other chicks, etc. If your spouse hunts to, now all those good times are shot, because you willbe 'the guy who always brings his wife'. The perfect kind of girl to find is one who doesn't like to hunt or fish, but her dad loves it (that's what I found). This way, she was raised with her dad always hunting and fishing, and now he expects it. So she won't nag (or not as often) when you go hunting because that's how she was raised.

well put!!!!!!!!!!!!! Paul that is part of the hunt. There is more to hunting than just the harvest. In my world it starts with the range all winter then to scouting then to the hunt itself. Oh and yes then it is the celebration and the feast!

I bowhunt, gun hunt, trap, fish, bowfish, dabble in taxidermy, fur tanning, play withroadkill, sharp objects and small explosives.

Most guys can't keep up with me.

I do have my sissy side though... I like having a hot shower handy and prefer not having to go to the bathroom inthe woods.

krojemann......I couldn't agree with you more! If she wants to go every now and then great but you have to have that time with the guys. My fiance's (spelling?) dad is a big bowhunter and I recall the time that she gave me crap for hunting. Never seen a girl get her ass chewed like that by a dad before LOL Pretty funny though! There are times that I love her coming with me and there are times that I want her to stay at home. "Abscense makes the heart grow fonder!"
