I have been huntin for 4 years now and I usually see 1-5 deer a night at the spot where my stand is hung. This year I have been out 4 times and still have yet to see a deer. I live in southwestern PA and was wondeirng if any other PA bowhunters had the same problem?

I'm not from Pa but I noticed that at the start of the season I didn't see much. As the weather has gotten cooler I've been seeing more deer. Keep hunting, and you'll see deer. Don't hunt the same spot too often though. Good luck!

Don't know how the mast crop is in PA but here in Virginia it is very heavy(atleast where I hunt). We are not seeing a lot of deer either but I think it is due to the deer having so much food. They don't have to travel far to eat.

I'm also from Pa. and haven't been seeing much yet, but that is normal for me this early in the season. Plus the weather is so warm. It really picks up at the end of October in the areas that I hunt.

Here in North Carolina we have experienced 2 years of very dry weather. Our swamps which usually stand with water are now dry and the water line has receded if not dissapeared.......The water line is usually a good place to see deer traveling. Now that we dont have a water line, they are all over the swamps.........Oak mast has been good for the last two years and scattered through out our dried up swamps causing the deer to be scattered also.....I think if our swamp water levels ever rise to normal, we will see the deer travel the waters edge again..........

It's been warm in SE Michigan and I didn't see anything on the first two day's of the season. Temps were in the mid 80's with warm nights in the mid to upper 60's, humid and strong winds out of the south. But my oldest son was hunting aprox 8 miles from me and shot a 7 pt on opening night and saw deer just about every night where he was at. So you never know one day to the next what can happen.

Hey DoubleLung55 I am from southwestern PA also. Are you hunting the same stand over and over? If so you should move to another location. It is still early, wait another week or so and you will see some deer. They are deffinetly here.

The acorns falling have really influenced the deer traffic this year. Two weeks ago they were ALL OVER one of my stands--a white oak which was dropping acorns. Now, they're 1/2 mile away eating the red oak acorns which are bringing in every deer in the area. They're all over it right now and not even touching the corn field next to it. I went back to the first stand last night. No deer there and the sign is dried up---for now. Guess where I'll be heading back to?
