ok tonight i went out to a place where i've seen alot of buck sign and where a 12 , 10 , 8 , 7 and 4 point have been seen.. i got in my stand on the other side of the field.. i rattled and then grunted... across the field i see a deer come out.. it was a buck ... he crossed the 400 yard field within seconds.. entered the woods and he was the 12 point that would easly score 150 of course the biggest deer i've ever seen in the woods .. he came in at 50 yards... at 25 yards i had a very very small shooting hole and decided to pass because he was still headed at me .. well then i grunted and he came 15 yards in but i couldnt shoot through all the dang branches to my left .. well then he turned around went back into the field heading the other way.. i rattled then grunted and he took off..?...i felt sick to my stomach.. i finally thought i was going to have bregging rights in my family everything was perfect and then all went to nothing... i am 15 and pay for almost all of my hunting stuff.. everything for hunting i do mostly on my own....i was so excited i thought i'd finally have a mature buck and this thing was huge!!.. but like i said he turned around and went the other way... never seen me or smelled me.. wind was in my favor and he never even looked at me....i still feel sick to my stomach that i couldnt get a shot especially at 15 yards...i'm gut wrenched thinkin that i will never see him again... so heres my question... what are my chances of seeing this buck again and will he come in to my calls ever again or to that stand??/
i know this is long sry guys but i'm sick to my stomach over it!! thx

Don't give up!
We have all had the "close but no cigar" hunts
He may or may not be back but he's not the only deer in the woods.
At least you didn't take a bad shot.
You made the right choice, be proud of it.

clear more shooting lanes! 15 yards and no shot means you did not prepare well enough. with him not being spoooked you have a slim chance at calling him again, you just never know with these critters, you might call a bigger one than that

Who cares if you see him again. You had a great experience having a mature buck that close. Sometimes you get a shot, sometimes you don't. They always don't walk perfectly where you want them to. Be proud of what you have done so far and mostly like someone else said, be VERY proud that you did not force a shot. That is refreshing to see. Good luck in the future.

Welcome to (bow) hunting!
Maybe you will see him, maybe you wont. What ever the case, you are 15? You have plenty of time. I started hunting in my 30's and the only thing regret is not sstartig younger. I also applaud you for being so responsible at your age. Stick with it and you will have more than this monster come by.
I was hunting last year with a .270. I had a nice buck in my sights at 100 yards. I fired and missed! He just stood there and continued feeding. Fired again - MISS! HOW!?!? He walked a little closer - FIRE! MISS!
I was now out of ammo! I only brought 3 shots in the feild.
Lesson? PREPARE! I will now have a full magazine and a pocket full of rounds. I will ALSO inspect my SCOPE / SIGHTS when ever I travel with my wepons. In this sceario, my scope got knockedout of line.
