hunting in gusty winds

RE: hunting in gusty winds
1. You're not going to kill any deer sitting at home.
2. There's a lot of rutting bucks out in the woods right now- wandering around at all times of the day and night regardless of the weather.
3. In general, deer will try to find some spots sheltered from the wind- find them, and you'll find the deer.
I live in eastern Ohio, and we got the same windy forecast for tomorrow- I'm going out hunting, but staking out a wind-protected hillside that is also a doe bedding area. Good luck to you!

RE: hunting in gusty winds
I usually don't do much hunting when it's really windy out unless it's going to be the only day that week I'll get to get out in the woods. I've seen deer moving on really windy days, but they were moving rather fast, like trying to get quickly to a bedding area or something spooked them. I try to go out to hunt every chance I get, but if it's way to windy, it will just depend on what else is going on that week.
