Default 18 degrees and 20 MPH winds... lets go hunting!

On my way out to the stand. I haven't gone out in a week so now its the time. Wife is home with the kids. The deer can't afford to sit around today. 3 tags to use up too!

I had a great time scouting/still huntingsome public land this afternoon. I hadn't hunted there in over 5 years, think I'll spend more time there next season.

It was so ironic that there was a thead last week about letting bucks go to get bigger next season. I always let them walk and last night I had 3 - 3 1/2 year old bucks come through. One was a ligit 140" - 8 pt. I went by neck size and no pot belly plus I already have a bigger 8 pt on the wall. Next year though that guy hopefully gets a point on each beam and picks up 20 inches. The other two (8 point with broken off tines all down his left side - 10 pt with maybe one tine over 5 inches but good width. Next year will be good hunting yet and all because I stuck it out for 4 hours!

Going in the morning @ -4 degrees and putting the MT050 to the test. Oh yeah I wore Alpaca socks for the 1st time and they did really good as a second layer over UA wick socks. Check em out in the bowhunting gear forum.

Its cold out there, hope hunting is going well, hope you put down those does you planned on. Weather is supposed to dramatically change by this weekend, calling for up around 50 by me on Sunday.

So how did the MT050 work for you?

Sure was cold tonight! The deer were moving for the past 2 days. I had 12 Does and 2 Big Bucks at about 60 yards, no shot op, then they winded me! I went back to the same area tonight and moved my stand 25 yards over and killed a Doe at about 25 yards. She went 4o yards and piled up, the Rage did a number on her!!!!! I'm feeling pretty good! I love the cold weather and snow, they GOTTA move!
